Poetry Contest

dark tales of love and burning temptation
This is similar to my Cenobite comp, but this time it is aimed at poets who have received between 10 and 1 wins. Anyone over or under that is welcome to compete for an Honorable Mention. For this comp I want something a little different. You see, I love the classic tales like Dracula and The Phantom of the Opera where their love stories are twisted and rarely end on good note. I want at three part tale of epic poetry, at least 100 words apiece.

SHOW ME YOUR ETERNAL LOVE
TWISTED BY THE DARKNESS OF
IMAGINATION

IN THE SAME STYLE AS THE CLASSICS
GOTHIC CASTLES
FULL MOONS
AND HAUNTED MOORS

THREE PART TALE

ONE MONTH

Goddess Doom
I buried the memory of her deep inside the back of my mind; underneath the crumpled shrine that still stood as a faded reminder of some long ago tragedy. Im not sure what led me back to this place.. i swore to myself never to return. Yet here i am. A completely different person. Walking down this old path in the dark. Echoes of her voice reverberate from the sad sunken walls. The wind brings the scent of her hair, long lost but never forgotten. the hair on the back of my neck stands straight. A still small voice inside tells me i should turn around and leave this God forsaken place, and the repressed memory of what happened three years ago stirs like some sleeping giant at the bottom of the sea. I shake off this feeling as i continue on through the dense fog.
I reached the tattered temple where i had once worshiped her image in blind darkness. the only light i was able to see was the light that reflected off of her face, my sore eyes soaking it in like a plant soaks in the Sun. She was the moon in all her beauty. Her eyes were the sun impossible to look directly into. Her lips were an oasis in the midst of a vast dry nothingness. I stepped through the broken down doors that gaped open. Entering in once again. Whether out of curiosity or sheer stupidity i can not say. i am back in the temple where whispers persuade. Whispers that bid me to come and forbid me to stay.
A ray of moonlight from the crumpled roof illuminates the glass from  a shattered picture on the dust covered floor. I pick it up and blow off the dust gazing transfixed at the face that caused such destruction and pain unendurable. I become possessed by the ghost of all my yearning and spirit of burning desire sending hot flashes and cold chills down my spine. I whisper her name and my own echoes back. What awe.. What unspeakable foreboding apprehension.
I speak to her. Choosing my words with cunning precision to call up her shape from the ashes. My words, like an incantation causing her to rise up out of oblivion. Her perfect form materializes before me.More beautiful and more terrible than before. Rays of blinding beauty emanate from her, heating up my skin and penetrating my very soul. There is no more I. Only her eyes which contain within them every star in the sky. Is she real? Or just a product of a weary mind's delusion. I can see her, touch her, smell her, feel her.. but is she really here? She begins to sing. Her voice creeps into my ears stealing my mind away.
I am her prisoner once again, but at this point I dont even care. Every bit of indignation and resentment i felt for her was melted away in the wink of her eye. I willingly accept the leash around my neck. Chained to a dream. Tied to her like a puppet on a string. as brick by brick i rebuild her temple... brick by brick... Can we build something new? or am i just sealing my doom?..

A Haunting
How long shall I mourn thee? Thou who art dead to me
yet still may I chance upon your spectre in mostly every corridor of my mind.
Around whos corners you reach out and grab me.
Dragging me to the deepest recesses of such bitter woe and sad self pity.
And when I am granted some respite from the drudgery of my waking hours, in resting, rest I not.
For haunted I am, by ghosts of you , even into my wildest dreams, to torture me there.
Is there no escaping you?
You who are the express image some foul beast wearing the skin of some wonderous fairy?
Could it be that some small copy of you burrowed its way into my brain whilst I slumbered?
There to carve out a home for itself and poke me with white hot prickers?
What dastardly deed was done by me that I may deserve such a fate as this? Who sent thee?
God? Satan?
Yes the later seems befitting. For it is by the mere memory of you that I am driven to such fine madness and utter destitude.
Be gone from me!
Trouble me no more!
You who posess more beauty than a baby's smile
And more evil than the devils wiles.
Be gone from me I say!
Trouble me no more...

Molested, then came the double up then she got bested
While later on, still in pain she invested
We’re now relating another way on how the heart gets tested
For the cash, the fake flash she’d have ‘em chasing
Predetermined would be her grinding
All of it; every bit enhanced her timing
This woman...No whining
Playing each and every Simple Simon
She with her snookering & kidnapping
Some got to go onto live and never tell about the farce
While leading the way was her and her trail of spark
The kind made up of hellacious bolts of “near” light

She’d always at least thought about doing it right
Doing it frequently out in the open or
Perhaps secretly without any interloping
But each time out...She’d work her “bull by the horn routine”
They all loved her scene and the way she got mean
Vicious. The double flip letting it rip
Knocking ‘em right out of that “macho thing”
The cold getting hot by the way they’d stare & scream
She’d light ‘em up as if saying; smoke ‘em if you got ‘em
Then once again it’d be up and another Adam
There wasn’t any doubt
Right then & there she had ‘em

She knew because she’d already done a few
Nothing really new...Just a matter of getting past the ornery types
And then there’s always at least one or two of those chosen types
Them sum bitches wishing they were having her kind of fun
Wanting to pop-off until they done
She & them all up in that guaranteed secure loft
She’d do the deed, the limo-seen then she’d glide off
Man for man, it was as many as she could stand
The stale wood, doing all they could, all they can
Yet no matter what their reason they remained a fan

Must’ve been the glow, that flow
Certainly included the reaping of what was sown
Though that merely was the reflection of a damaged spirit
But with her saying “Take me home...”
Them three words, they’d just loved to hear it
If only just to think they were going to get near it
Hell, they had their “macho thing” so..
No need to fear it...least right up ‘til now

        DARK ANGEL
Exhausted
I sat on the clouds,
staring at the horizons
Dim yellowish red lights
radiated from the radius of the moon
The night seemed peaceful
Even the wind agreed with me,
as it nodded its head silently,
Making the gentle dusts rise
And the grasses rustle softly
The earth seemed happy
Even the animals played hide and seek
I stared blankly,
envying the rat, who always won the game
Cause it always hid in nearby holes
The hunger pangs in my stomach brought
me back to reality
I stood up lackadaisically
This had become a routine,
a daily routine
My door creaked loudly as I opened it firmly
I heard footsteps closing and tensions building
They stared at me
Those fiery red eyes
They lunged forward,
Each asking for a piece of my soul
I didn’t bother fighting them
I was helpless!
They pierced into my soul
I squawked in dread
I was fully engulfed in it
My veins were swollen with doom
With their blasphemous lips,
they kissed me cadaverously
Those scaly lips tasted of rot
Rot and excruciating pain
I put my trembling fingers on the door knob,
attempting to escape,
trying to run from the venom tongued demons
The demons were in my head
The demons were in my thoughts
The demons were my thoughts
My mouth was foaming
I collapsed at the doorstep
Bottles clinkered, clinging sounds,
as I sat on the ground, trembling
My heart beating out of my chest
I drank to drown my sorrows
Yet
They still always came back,
like a sprung yoyo
I closed my kaleidoscope eyes
The memories flooded
Frozen images rolled all around
Summer time fine, she was
Long eyelashes,
Beautifying her intense glare,
making you yearn
Masochistic seduction
She had a mesmerizing beauty
A dark beauty
One I could not comprehend
She wore her hair black,
darker than the slit gown she wore
Darker than the black lipstick she wore
She dominated me
I knew it
Yet I always craved for her
I knew she had a spell on me
I didn’t care
I knew I was next
I didn’t care
Her skin had turned pale
Her eyes had become deem
Her hair scaled
I knew what that meant
The thoughts sent chills down
I put my head down
Tears fell stream long
The pictures flashed around
I had seen my name crossed out on the paper,
crossed in blood,
her blood
The full moon shone,
It was a full moon
Yet I still didn’t want to leave
I felt a hand tap me
I looked up
She smiled at me,
her flawless smile left me momentarily numb
She drew me close
Her breath flooded the air until I chocked
Intoxicating me with a sedating sensation
I was in love with her,
with a vampire
She rubbed my head,
i closed my eyes as her touch hypnotized me
She pointed her hand to the direction of the room,
the room she called the sacred room
The room stank of sulfur and dried blood
I could hear hideous laughter’s from unseen beings around
When I opened my eyes,
i found out I was in the middle of a pentagram
At the end of the triangle in front was a tub,
a tub full of blood
At the other end was a throne
There she sat
She wore a crown of crows
A tear dropped from my left eye
Two invisible forces led me to the front of the tub
She came down from her throne
Her eye blacker than that of a shark
Her fangs pointed, glistening in the semi lit room
Her tongue flickered around,
like a flirting reptile
She walked in calculated steps towards me
Saying inaudible things under her breathe
”I don’t want to die”
I muttered under muffled breathe
She lunged towards my neck suddenly
I pushed her with all my gathered strength
The door closed as I ran towards it
I looked back
Her depth of the darkness in her eyes froze me,
The air got choky
More sulfur smell
Glass bottles were thrown towards my direction
I had upset the unseen beings
She stood up slowly
I hit the door with all my human might
Levitating from the floor,
her legs on the air
her shoulders bent
her neck twisted
She slid on her toes towards me
Strong forces held me down
I screamed uncontrollably,
in indecipherable torment
Jumping from my bed I screamed
I was on my bed
In my own house
Sweat drenched my shirt
Reality slowly creeped into my head,
into my consciousness
Everywhere was silent,
apart from the severe throbbing of my chest
I was alone in my room
There was no danger
“Hey Ake”
I heard my girlfriend’s voice in my room say
She wasn’t in the room when I slept,
How did she come in?
I turned the light in the room on hurriedly
There she was
Smiling mischievously
A droplet of blood
at the curve of her mouth
“Bye Ake”
She pounced on me

THE TRIPLE GODDESS

Sprung from the original trinity
I lay in the virginal egg that represented truth
New was the moon , as yet her eyes, shone down upon me
Through sycamore trees and old oaks
The maiden sang her tune

Viral her voice twined the branches
from the mother tree
her roots swelling from the moist of dawn
As her womb bore the soil of sacred seeds
Strong winds blow through basks and leaves

I bid of you to hear me
As shaken by the strength of lunar light
Yearning to capture it upon the waves
O rippled tide, O illumination
I call to the depths beyond all sights

Sink into the silence that knows
She, our nocturnal mother
Grants us the wisdom
As we journey through Her
Speak through the spheres

We sail the ships of life
Enter the valleys of death
Where the Crone awaits
Wuthering fields
Haven of hills

Waxing, waning, now
The blemished face of moon
the solace of the earth
I shed my skin
Rattle my aching bones

The skeleton withered
My soul inhales the forest mirth
Silver sparrows singing
Sacred hymns of destination
I am ready for my rebirth

Blood Stained Gown

Face covered by a veil dipped in blood
body dressed in a blood stained gown
she is ready to join her evil betrothed
not a soul sees her tears or her sad frown

Her spirit gone, she's been broken
she can't breathe its as if she's drown
made a deal with the devil, now she pays
he will claim her in front of her home town

the blood stained gown hides her beauty
the veil helps hide her barbed wire crown
in violent ritualistic style he'll take her
she'll become queen of hell when he takes her down
