The Empire Of Thorns And Roses
Nary ‘tis known if Cupid’s fiery dart,
Will hit your mind, or hit your heart,
And blossom a love that ‘twas meant to be,
Or bring the demise of me and thee.
The blood-flush buds on roses’ vines
Are dotted with thorns, as they entwine
Around that which would seek to grow,
The Empire of The Thorn and The Rose.
The beauty of blooms with their sharp-edged knives
Gives both breath and sting, within our lives;
The binding words soon turn around,
What once built up, will now tear down.
But lessons are learned in love’s give and take,
Which determine how one will ride its wave.
Though if a mistake should on the wind, blow,
The buds of rebirth will also regrow,
For the God of Love and second chances,
Smiles also upon new romances.
Based on the quote by Joan Crawford:
"Love is like a fire. But whether it is going to
warm your heart, or burn down your house,
you can never tell."

Counting stars-one republic
Hope's in despair
I can't sleep
Because I can't stop thinking of you
Just like every single night.
The thought of you lingers here
And haunts my dreams
It won't leave my mind.
Why do I torture myself
If I already know you'll never
Ever be here by my side.
It's a pain how my heart
Sends this message to my head
Every time I lay in bed.
A teardrop falls down my cheek
As I slowly realize this might never change
This love won't ever fade.
Although I know it's not meant to be
And things won't go back to how it was,
My feelings for you will forever last.
I might as well die of love
Or regret for not being strong enough
But this is now my drug.
Could I ever be saved
From this addiction that kills
And makes me feel alive?
You've hurt me
Oh! So much and yet
I still want you here.
It's like you're the sole reason
That I'm even alive,
This love I'll cherish till I die.
I remember when you said
You didn't care about the money,
That you would rather count stars with me.
Where did that talk go
As you saw me drown
In the depths of this sorrow?
Should I let you kill me
And have this love die
Or should I spread my wings fly?
You gave the hope I needed
To get up on my feet and fight
And to enjoy every single sight.
So now I'll let everything burn
As the stars we count
And forget the lessons I've learned.
I've lost my sleep
So many nights
Thinking of you and me.
And now I'll go out
And find my will

The growing problem
Is intolerance
Disowning our blood and kin
For ignorance and religion
That just destroys its followers
And impregnates spirituality
With demonic things like broken boxes
Opened with Pandora's key
No longer locked
We are rot
Dissolved in solvents
We cannot see
Because we believe in our personal gods who cannot
Stop and see even what the heathens read
Of what is to love those East of Perfect
How can we just rid ourselves of broken thieves
When we are all just broken things
Incapable of saving I and Me
I want you to see
You cannot just eradicate
Those who do not follow your hollow beliefs
Because no one is perfect
And The Commandments just came to show it
But hey
Let's just kill everyone and let your God sort them

I don't know if I am ready for a challenge of this caliber, but I guess the harder the challenge the more one gets out of it. Sink or swim... hell even if it's just the doggy paddle... I would at least like to try.
