SWEET RELEASE

He was all alone
the night was young
he didn't know what to do
so he played his piano
and sang a sad song

it was a song
that pierced the night
with its sadness
a song that sent a message
to nobody listening

a sad song by a lonely man
seeking sweet release
he was feeling randy
and nothing was handy
to help his loneliness away.

her mouth creased
in the very same shape
it made when she was asleep
i repeat that verse again
and i know it wont be long till then.
its weird that
it hasn't happened yet.

shes very still and her breathing is heavy
i repeat that verse again
its been an hour, shes still not ready
i can hardly stand

its weird how something like this works
i know it couldnt possibly be me
i repeat that verse again
and she breathes

i really hope shes going home
and not just slipping into never
i repeat that verse again
i stifle the thought "this is taking forever..."

my legs are getting weak
is it me or is it hot in here
feeling dizzy on my feet
this is getting weird

i sit down and 2 seconds later
shes choking on her vomit
i stopped saying anything
i just sat and i watched it

the doctors put
the tube in her neck
i feel nothing but obligation
to some social reflex

she made strange noises
the noises stopped
the machine began screaming  
a second woman screams in shock

theyre holding her back
i guess i just tuned it out
screaming slows to a cry
everyone's quiet now.

they pull a sheet over her head
but i found it strange
when i stopped so did she,
do yo think she could hear me?

Thats intense, it's beautiful, wonderfully writen
