powerpoint, mystic, mailman

I watched him present his powerpoint
of photographs and graphics
how beautiful his voice sounded
like a song of distant longing

there was an air of intrigue
almost like a wizard's mystic
world, of colours in the air
whispered ode to beauty

the mailman rang the doorbell
I thudded into reality
switched off the TV, briefly contemplated
murder, and then I opened the door.

Blackwater's

all but the mountain gone
swallowed whole by a sneaky ocean

because the  last king of the  island
was  far too frugal, or foolish
to keep one good eye on the waves

couldn't see, ultimately
what he'd pay in gold
would indeed be a small fee
compared to what he'd pay
in lives lost

soon to dominate the water's top
and bob their way slow
t'wards land again

Historical records from WWII
mentioned a depth charge in the area
She had the tenacity of an anaconda
So there was no way she was letting go
of her desire to find and own a treasure
some would say was just a curio

Sorry, I responded to a page that wasn't the most current

In the waning days of the Great Seven Year Fires of Europe
the fallen cities and crumbled infrastructures
afforded unprecedented restoration
opportunities for the replaceable
androids and cyborgs who could
work in the radiation and
Byzantium pollution

I gave the chihuahua a swift kick up the butt
It was lucky I didn't have a friggin chainsaw in my hand
But then again if the corset wasn't killing me
I may have been nicer

(Ha! - Excellent kateA!)

What belligerent soul would so punt a puppy?
Looking so fine with waist pulled so tight
The cumulative effects on said rat-dog's ass
It's hypochondriac whines have ruined our night

existential, peripheral, redundant

existential, peripheral, redundant

Thinking of my full potential
makes me feel existential
sometimes thoughts were on peripheral
mostly hit me deep and visceral
thoughts of love were quite abundant
filled with lust they became redundant

the cars literally flew by me
the bars were full to capacity
was there anyone present actually watching this race?
or was it just those glued to a TV?
was it an idiosyncrasy of those who attended
to be drinking themselves stupid
instead of watching and yelling

and how he hated
the torturous affair, the frieze
he was chisslin' had turned out to be
and how he'd like
to set a magpie to the rookery
if only to break
the monotony

Stunned by the turn of events
Feeling her facade was now fractured
She repositioned the artwork module
In an attempt to show control

and p'raps
there was cause for deep distrait
after all, many a wee wave
sweep a tsunami
split second induction
to the wall

'She didn't give a tuppence'
She hears these words in her mind
Spoken by someone she admired
'Twas a beautiful day as she walked
The beach heading to her favourite nook
The mystique of this walk, this beach
Had a special place in her heart

behold the crook's depository
come in, and see
the bones of a pharaoh
rest in peace
redolent of the rope chains
that keep fussed fingers away

there's no sense
sneaking in an apocalypse
there'd be nothing left
of anything

The panel had gathered
To hear the dissertation
Of a woman who had ferreted out
new knowledge for the tribune
She was nervous beginning her speech
And a squeak escaped her lips
Followed by nervous laughter

evanescent, heresy, military

tribune, ferreted, squeak

News in the broadsheet Tribune
were all about the people
who died in the forests
sold like livestock
from one country to the other

they denied vigourously
that such a trade was happening
around them until the Rohinya
ferreted to the hated media

and then all they could do
was squeak and scramble
to rectify the situation.

labourer, pestilence, frequent
