Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Posted on: 02/09/10 at 16:55:26 CST
Write me a poem about Carmen Sandiego, if it tickles your fancy. Take liberties, please.
The shape of your head is a twist of the truth, the skulls on these walls, are they connected to you?

< Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? >
As the night comes, even this twilight is lost to us...
I watch from my window, alone, as the light of the sunset plays on the mountain tops.
And sometimes a piece of sun, burns, like a coin in my hand.
I am filled, when I remember you, with that sadness of mine you always knew.
Where are you now? Who else is there? What are you saying?
The memory of our love... then suddenly it comes to me that I am here and you are far away.
The book that used to slowly close at twilight, now it falls, joins my blue sweater, sprawled, like a hurt dog at my feet.
And there you go, as sure as evening comes, as sure as darkness hides your face from me.

Dear lover, it's Carmen here... I know I've been less than accessible But I've got a helpful clue for you: I've been eating shishkabobs of late. I hope this finds you well, and don't Give up the search, though I'm out here And far away, I still think of you.

Carmen San Diego is a small village nestling in the foothills of the Sierra del Puto. She is famous for her spicy dish and interesting local folklores. It is said that the ghostly figure of Senora Carmen, from which the village she take her name, appears at the local well once a year on the night of el grossa luna (the gross moon) to replenish the waters so they may never run aridly. This symbolic act of replenishment is regarded with great reverencia by the villagers and even though some might think the vision of the venerated Senora Carmen squatting and making pee-pee into the well is one that's vulgar and impure, those who claim witness to her silver stream consider themselves blessed with great good fortune. Next year when electricity finally reaches the village there are plans to install a commemorative plaque with 24 hour CCTV which is hope will immortalise the Senora for ever and bringing the international acclaim many believe she is richly deserving.

Check the library. - Someone was here says the corpulent clerk.
The noose tightens. - She flew away says a broken sailer. - A red flag, it was.
Vile henchmen, trickle away, down European allies, Mexican slums, Indian markets.
She runs like a child, - smiling, I think says the poor bishop. - Smiling and laughing. - Clothed well.. - Tattooed?
The trail dies in Reykjavik, like she might have, over an ocean or desert. Drowned in her wealth and brilliance.
